I want to start a series about mills. I can not totally explain what I find so interesting about mills. But perhaps with my photos I can explain what I feel or what kind of atmosphere existed. A picture is worth a thousand words:

Hello Lichtspot and welcome to Dyxum!
First, I think this post doesn't fit the Critics Corner, so don't be surprised if it will be moved.

Anyway, it is very nice photo! I like the redish sky and the nice reflection. It is not only the mills that make the photo nice, but the whole frame with the special atmosphere.
As a critics, which I assume you are looking for since you posted here, I would mention the wooden bridge that we see part of it at the left end of the photo - I would crop it out (or clone it out). Generally, I think I would prefer a standard (2:3) view while cropping out the half trees on both sides.

BTW, if you like mills, you should look at Snegren project in our July challenge here.

As Shay predicted, moved to Themed Views, and renamed, so others can join in.

Thanks for starting this Lichtspot! Like rovhazman I advise you to look at Snegren's project in our July ABC Challenge.

This thread came just in time for me: I visited a windmill last week. This is a draining mill in North-Holland and was used to reclaim the Schermer polder. You can find out all about it here.

A superb exposition! I admit that I was never into the interior of a windmill. I had not imagined that a windmill contained attractive living quarters. I believe that I would enjoy employment in this windmill. Thank you for the detailed tour.
