Dear Dyxumers,

I finished counting votes and I'm pleased to announce the winner of "The Best of 2016" DPC. As you can see below you liked Christine's shot the most and I quite understand why - this photo has this "something" in it, although personally I'm a bit asotnished with the way it "stormed" the voting and beaten so many excellent competing shots that appeared in this DPC! Well done indeed!

"Free as the Wind" by kapuschinsky

The Honourable Mention awards this time go to the dream-like Petar's photo ...

"Macro wonderland" by Sharpeye

... and breathtaking capture by Gustav:

"singing my breath away......." by ijsvogel

Congratulations to the winner and the HMs and thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC, especially that this was probably my last post in my loooong "DPC story" - I decided to pass the "burden" into somebody's else hands Or should I say - put the burden on somebody else's shoulders? Anyways, thank you very much for bearing with me over those years (in March it would be nine!) and thank your for your patience

Happy shooting,
MiPr

Congratulations to the exceptional winner and HMs on their well deserved awards - superb images all.
And congratulations also to MiPr for his tireless and magnificent efforts in running Dyxum's DPCs over these past nine years - they are a vital component of this site, and very inspirational to all who participate in them at whatever level.

Outstanding top of the bills, winning against stiff competition by so many other wonderful 2016 shots!

... and I trust Christine's daughter made a safe landing after such an exciting free flight

Well done to the winner - a very worthy Picture of the Year indeed but chased hard by two equally beautiful and inventive images.

I too have to add a word of thanks to MiPr for all the hard work he has undertaken over the last 9 years; it's not a simple task to monitor these and create the new themes etc. so we should all feel honoured that he has spent his own time looking after us so effectively. Well done sir!

Best regards, Neil.

Congratulations for outstanding work! The Picture of the Year is breathtaking and the HM's are equally as powerful.
