Congratulations to Svjetlana and the HMS!
Svjetlana´s winner is with no doubt a wonderful picture but imo it doesn´t fit the specific rules of the contest: "No extra textures or objects that were not present during shooting should be added. Generally the stress is on photography not on post-processing, although we accept some slight modifications. If you have any doubts ask the organizer of the contest by PM." I think the contributions should observe the rules or the rules should be cancelled. Just my 2 cents. |

@Robbie: You are right about rules. But some specific DPCs make exceptions from the rules. That is always mentioned in a specific DPC and this time was no exception. It was mentioned at the vary top section of the thread:
(Entries) DPC #289 "Looks like painting": "Dear Dyxumers, This time we will show our images that look like paintings. This can be achieved in many ways. Some of them are by use of special kind of lenses which can create very soft painterly images like lensbaby and similar. Other ways are by creating an image in special light conditions like fog and similar. Others are certain kind of technique like intentional camera movements. Or similar approaches. In this DPC we will allow use of textures for achieving painterly effect." |
