I have noticed that the XLR-K3M microphone kit comes supplied with an Mi shoe extension cable thats allows you to use the device off camera. I have the XLR-K2M which is very similar but did not come with the extension cable.

I have searched the web but cannot find the part number or a seperate listing for the mi shoe audio extension cable.

Does anybody know the part number for the mi shoe extension cable or where I could get my hands on one if they are sold separately.

If not does anybody know of anyone that makes a mi shoe extension cable it seems like it would be a very handy thing to have.

Thanks for your time.
Ben.

There doesn't seem to be much standard between any of those microphones - it looks like theer is a mix of connectors for attaching the mike to the main body on each...

...one thing that springs to mind is that if someone loses that cable (which seems to just replicate the Mi shoe off camera, they would need a spare part - perhaps look for that on Sony sites or sites that stock Sony spares?

Here's a link to Encompass, one of Sony's parts suppliers, the other one being ued.net. They do list a microphone cable but it's for the K1M. The cable will have to be spliced into the microphone and the cable alone lists for 155.88 USD. Part number is 1-846-330-11.

Thanks I saw that after Bob J suggested Sony spare parts.

I noticed they don't even have the XLR-K3M adapter listed. I guess as it was only recently released at the same time as the A7RIV. I'll check back in the future.

Thanks

Ben.

There is a Vello brand cable sold as an extension for flash units. Described here. I don't know if it works for microphones.

Thanks for the suggestion but I think that is just for flash operation judging by the number of contacts on the Mi shoe connector.

Thanks for the suggestion though I'll bookmark it.
