a rust bucket being dragged to dry dock
looks to be long overdue / 4 pics, used 4 lens, 1 w ea lens plus the tug

1 / Rok 21mm

2 / Sony 55-210mm

3 / Rok 12mm

4 / Zeiss 16-70mm

5 the Tug - looks fairly new and ship shape, maybe someone who knows tugs might want to elaborate. Another aspect of this photo is what is right behind and on the tug. the naval ships which are permanently docked there in Alameda former Naval station. The aircraft carrier is the WW ll USS Hornet which picked up Armstrong and Apollo crew. First Man on the Moon mission. The road right behind the ships is the Nimitz freeway, named after most of you know who.

There is a lot of stuff here in this San Francisco Bay. Treasure Island where I just took my Super Bowl 50 pics hosted the 1939 Worlds Fair w Japanese and German Exhibits. WW ll started shortly after.
The famous Pan Am "China Clippers" took off and landed from the Island.
But sorry I digress

Nippon Maru, Japanese Naval training vessel, Last ocean crossing full rigger sail. Possibly on its last ocean going voyage, now docked in Yokohama as a maritime museum. photo taken 2005

Went on board the ship, unfortunately didn't take pics, but it was impressive. It was Japan usual, spotless w attention to detail. Sailors were sharp, probably top of the line.
