TBH Kelly, I don't subscribe to any talk about lenses being to big or awkward or any of the other derogatory adjectives in regular use; I purchased the A7r for it's Sensor and it's versatility in handling any one of my lens inventory.
As for the A7r/28-135mm combo specifically, the foot of the LA-EA4 sits easily on the heel of my hand, my thumb and forefinger sits naturally on the zoom ring and if I need to manually tweak focus, slip the thumb back and the focus ring is so light the thumb is sufficient with hardly a need to use the third finger as well. It all feels very natural and not at all uncomfortable. I would guess the A7r/LA-EA4 combo is fairly close in size and weight to the A99. I have posted a couple from the 21/2.8 in the "other mount lenses" thread but no one else has so far contributed. I will add some more but it would be nice if you joined in. |

The resolution advantage is understandable. My A7 does not have that advantage over my A99. Its main advantage for me is size when traveling. For my photography closer to home, the A99 just makes more sense with A mount lenses. SR mount is another story. Does not feel to me like a higher res sensor is coming for the A mount, so maybe I should be saving to the A7rII!
![]() Found the Rokkor 21mm images. Very nice photos! Also see the new photos you just posted -- more nice samples from a classic Rokkor! Thank you! Edited by AudioDoc - 15 August 2015 at 20:37 |

I hear you Kelly but I do think there will be a highres A99, maybe soon and that's one reason I'm holding back from the A7rM2. Really, the only reason for me to upgrade the A7r is the abomination of a shutter; Sony should be ashamed of themselves.
I've updated the 21mm thread too. Peter |

Peter,
I hope you are correct about a high res. A99, though I'm not at all optimistic. What if its another 24Mp sensor or 36Mp at best? We'll just have to wait and see, but I don't see it as much of a priority for Sony. Saw the additional 21mm photos, thanks! Kelly |

Kelly,
It's nothing for Sony to release an updated A99, the tech is all there. Take an A99 body, add a few programmable buttons. 42Mpix BSI Sensor but leave off or disable the OSPDAF. Processor also from the A7rM2 PDAF Module from the A77M2 A camera like that would surely sell to us A-Mounters. It would be nice if there were an updated PDAF array with a wider coverage even if it was limited to faster lenses but we think we know that there has been limited R&D on A-Mount. I think this is a minimum likely spec for the A99M2 anything above that would be a Sony bonus. Sony have repeated on many occasions that A-Mount is not dead. It would be unthinkable for there not to be a release before very long. An A-mount usually comes in Sept/October but I suppose it could be Spring. Peter |

Beautiful, Peter! Colors really pop and lots of detail with one of your favorite lenses! Looks like a Sidmouth is a beautiful place to visit (and photograph)! You had some nice clouds going on there but with blue skies behind them. It seems my luck here in Utah is when I have time to shoot, we have nothing but clear skies forecast and hot and dry -- go figure.
I'll keep my figures crossed and hope like hell you are correct about your A99II forecast! ![]() Regards, Kelly |

LOL, nice one Pegelli, although I doubt the fishermen would describe them as "friends". After they dump all over you boat, more like the "Enemy".
