Yorkshire Dales near Kirkby Lonsdale

I was on a trip to Glasgow and Dundee last week and took some timeout to look at the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Up in Kingsdale, near Ingleton there were some fantastic open spaces.

The first photograph here was produced from three frames, and there is one more from this spot which is with 24mm framing as opposed to 70mm as in #3,



I have some more from a different valley that I took the following day, and I'll post those when they're ready.

Very interesting, Brandy. Apologies if the residual Yorkshire person in you is offended by the choice of the word 'valley' (I'm from North Devon and we don't have any dales there!) They were different times; my grandfather was an Exmoor hill farmer and we'd visit him, sitting in the gloom before he would deign to switch on the generators to power the lights.

The next pictures are from the roadside between Kirkby Lonsdale and Kirkby Stephen, looking across to Caustley Spout and to Wharton Fell, as far as I can judge from the OS map. We were on a timetable to get to Glasgow so not much deviation from roadside. I'd like to get back and spend a few days in the area.

I like the 8th. Even in the full day, the low-lying sun gives beautiful shadows. And the colors are great.

Agree with both; 9 is my favorite with backlit ponies
