I guess your RX1 fits in the "non-alpha mirrorless or compact" class to
For people who wonder how a Leica M has a mirror, this link explains how a rangefinder works - indeed, with a mirror.

I don't know what my primary camera is, so I don't know what my backup camera is

My backup camera is A68 and serves me very good with Minolta 85f1.4G for wedding photography requirements.

I'm not sure that the a77ii is exactly a "backup" camera. More that it's used for application the a7R isn't suited for. I'm just shooting more subjects that suit the a7R at the moment.
a7riii- Voigtländer 15/4.5, 110/2.5 M; Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8, 35/2, 50/2, 85/2.4, Batis 85/1.8, 135/2.8; Sony 24-105/4 G; Sigma 70/2.8 M; Tamron 150-500 f5-6.7

Sony SAL 135/2.8 STF, SAL70-200/2.8 G

Olympus E=PM2 makes a decent back=up camera and is good with MD, M42 and OM lenses, unlike my SLT|. However its lack of viewfinder drives me crazy when I've been using the SLT a lot!

Yes, IKWYM. I'm going to retire/sell the 5D as this is just too irritating to use regularly. After the A58, the display is clunky, slow, and annoyingly feature-poor. And it seems very reluctant to indicate what ISO it is planning use, using, or even has used in auto-ISO mode.
Frankly, I find my pocket camera - the excellent Canon S100 -to be a much better back-up camera. Full manual control when you want it, with a customisable control ring around the lens as well as one at the rear, easy access to ISO/EV/WB/aperture adjustment/etc, and the auto works well too. Built-in ND filter, the list goes on. By far the best pocket digital camera I've used.
Miranda F & Sensorex, Sony A7Rii, A58, Nex-6, Dynax 4, 5, 60, 500si/600si/700si/800si, various Sony & Minolta lenses, several Tamrons, lots of MF primes and *far* too many old film cameras ...

Right now it is a Panasonic LX5 that I just bought. My Sony WX-350 stopped focusing. Saving my penny's for an a37 to carry everywhere I go.
