My second A-mount camera was the Dynax 600si, replacing my burgled 7000i. I still have that camera, although I have not used it since I belatedly jumped to digital.

My third A-mount camera was the Sony A300, bought when I could no longer buy Kodachrome, thus forcing me to go digital. The next generation of Alphas had just come out, but I preferred the slightly larger A300, especially with the vertical grip. My telephoto lenses suddenly got more interesting.

It was a long time between burglaries, but eventually the A300 went too, and for a while I used another system.

My fourth A-mount camera is the Sony A65, bought on a whim just to have something different to use.

My fifth A-mount camera was the Sony A77ii, bought when I need to return my A65, which I discovered wouldn't play nicely with my first SSM lens. I still have this camera but it is now neglected because I bought my latest A-mount camera, the Sony A99ii!

I've noticed that the numbering is out because I've remembered another A-mount film camera that I had before the 600si.

Put my hands on my first real A-mount camera today; just received an A68 used from amazon. 5.8k shutter actuations, like new body for 340. Trying to figure out some extra AF settings vs the A7ii to set it identically. Gonna be a backup for A7ii + LA-EA4 + Minolta lenses but I like the handling of it, sits right in the hand while with the A7 I had to get an L-plate.

I had once Minolta 303Si (?), later on the 505Si (?) before I switched to KM 5D, Sony A350, A77, A7R and now the A7Rii.

I am used to sell my older camera's to buy the newer types...

First Minolta was a Maxxum 450si with kit zoom lens. Mid 90's. That was replaced by a Maxxum 800si, my last film body. I still have both cameras.

Ahoy there shipmates!

I trust my fellow seadogs have had a great Christmas and Santi Klawz brought you many shiney stuff. As for the thread name, this is an easy one for me. I started with the A100, then to the *A700, *A580, *Minolta 5D/7D, A850 and now have the A900 (*several copies).

Everything has paid for itself due to wheeling and dealing plus finding top shelf glass and accessories for silly low prices, but that's for another time, but having done so, my gear owes me nothing.

As for the beginning of the next decade, I wish thee all the very best, but for now you're going to get orders to go to battle stations around midnight.

Arr, arr and thrice arr!

Hi all, I am new around here. Happy to be joining. My "1st" was a Canon digital video Cam (Mini DV) bought in 2001. Used it till 2005 and then mechanical glitches developed. in 2010, I bought a Sony HX1 Camera. Have it still but have not used it since 2015. Part of the reason is the Cam software became highly unstable and I knew Sony will charge a bomb for setting it right. in 2016 I bought an A99V and using it since them. I am a part timer and non-professional photo enthusiast.

Yet, I am eager to move over to E Mount. May be iover the next 2 years - May beafter I become able to use more of my time for photography!!
