I preferred the second image which has cropped out the distracting light on the lhs. Nice image btw.

Thanks keith, at first I liked #1 best(which is why I posted it) but then got some comments on another forum on the light and the "dead" space left so I PP'd #2 (which is a different image btw). I first discarded #2 because of a large window reflection in the sky, but by cropping very close to the horizon it actually turned out to be the better picture.

Pieter, I like the second better as well but may I suggest a more contrasty approach like in the first picture? Personally I prefer the blacker blacks of the first. Maybe you don't agree, though? Lovely shot, in any case.
I must say, Skruf and keith_h also have excellent shots on this page. |

I remember the first one, lovely moonlit shot, with the light over the hill of the road. Great mood. I really like the other two as well.

I remember the first one Werner, but the 2nd and 3rd are new to me and also excellent.
snajper, nice shot, but not too hot on the selective desaturation. I think I would prefer one in original color. Here's a few more from Shanghai but now at street level. This is the famous "Bund", many big mansions along the river built by the Germans, the French and the Brits. It's been a big mess with all the construction for the world fair ongoing, but now with only one month to go it's nearing completion: 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: 6: All A700 + Tam 17-50, handheld at ISO 1250 and processed in LR3 Beta 2. It's like having an all new firmware v5 with more detail and excellent noise reduction capabilities. |

Impressive results from LR3. There's a three-dimensional depth to them that can only come from deeper, cleaner blacks, meaning good NR at that ISO.

Thanks for your comments Pegelli and Brian33.
Pegelli...Funny about Shanghai #1 - it almost looks like Kgs. Nytorv in Copenhagen in Denmark. Alanbrowne.....very dynamic shot. the big truck in the foreground almost looking like itīs driven by a lunatic hell driver. |
