Obviously the results of this poll are not going to precisely match with sales percentages, but I found it interesting that Premium SLT/Full Frame SLT made up 50% of the results, while ILCE only made up just over 30%
Either the Alpha mount crowd is representing overly heavy here on Dyxum, or E-mounts aren't blowing A-mount out of the water lately like we're lead to believe. This strikes me as quite interesting, considering the E-Mount started being pushed around the same time that all the earliest Premium SLT/Full Frame SLT cameras came out... I respect and love the innovation that has been coming from Sony since it's adoption/absorption of the Minolta legacy, and the E-mount definitely has some interesting things to offer. I just hope polls like these are representative of the love that people still have for the Alpha-mount, and that Sony continues to provide updates/innovations for both mounts. |

I'm a rare bird here. I shoot my NEX-6 the most, for "everyday" shooting, then my A77ii is more the "backup". I prefer the smaller form factor for my walk around shots, but when I shoot sports, I grab the A77ii because I prefer the ergonomics.
I'm at the point where modern cameras are very good and don't upgrade until something breaks. I still shoot my NEX-3 from time to time, launched in 2010! I'm not sure if I will go full-frame digital. I like the idea, but don't necessarily want the bigger bodies and lenses. I really want the A6500. I really wish Sony launched an A88 though. Nowadays, when I want to go full frame, I grab a film body. I probably shoot a roll every two or three months. I really enjoy the "slow photography" process. I take so much more care when shooting film since it's at least $1 a shot ... film price + processing. |

Still gettin to get more of a feeling with my new (june 2018) A7iii. Love the IQ of the pics coming out of this camera. In lightroom you can realy go any way with these files, crazy!
The big but for me is the size factor. Compaired to the 1th gen A7 the camera got so heavy (the bigger size i can live with) ![]() I use 2 AF lenses FE2/28 & 1.8/85 (20% of my shots in 2018). All other lenses are manual focus (80% of my shots in 2018)) |
