Just noticed that the A7 cameras are split up between generations. Why only for the A7 cameras?

Its a bit of a toss up for me. I take my a6000 more often because it is smaller and less conspicuous than my full frame A-mount. Although when it is something wide, low light or far away I use a-mount because I have the lenses and take more photos. It’s good to have choices.

A99ii is still my work horse, the 'old'A99 as back up (or sometimes second camera when covering events). Rcentely bought an A7R2 for use with other mount lenses, although several of them are M42, which works fine on A-mount as well.

Put the a900 down as my main camera , but since I got a Sony SAM 18-135mm lens the a77ii is getting more use than it did , so these two cameras are getting about equal use really .

My trusty a7s starts to slowly fall apart on me (although I've never been very carefull with it & took it out on daily basis for over 5 years!); a dail failed, rubber around the grip comes off & evf-lcd 'switch' gets stuck. But this is still my daily go-to camera mainly with MF lenses. As i do some paid jobs, last year i bought the a7iii as back-up camera and use this with the FE 2/28+1.8/85. The AF on this systeem still feels like cheating

Until recently my A58 was without any doubt my main camera, but since getting the Nex-6 I've hardly used it, so in honesty it's been relegated to backup now.
I never intended to switch to E-mount, and in a sense I still haven't because I have a lot of A-mount lenses (plus several cameras including film) and do use them, but I find the convenience and size of the Nex-6 with one or more of the smaller lenses to be so great that it's the one I tend to pick up first. For me, having a camera I enjoy using and which is small and light enough to carry about casually beats any amount of camera or lens envy. |

Year after year all the press and all the money have gone to the new mount but year after year in our little poll here the current full frame A-mount always comes out on top.

that poll might represent Dyxum, but coming from someone that works in retail.. it doesn't reflect the market or IMO general Sony owners (in 2020) |

I think it is a problem that Dyxum is A-mount oriented and E-mount users feel not enough part of our community....

A7rii is my main since it was bought used, looking somewhat used, its shutter got stuck three or four times, then it made a backflip unto the asphalt when opening a bag (it was just short enough with the lens it had attached to fit in the small bag) so that I'd receive three pennies and a mean word if I tried to sell it. The shutter hasn't actually gotten stuck since so here's hoping it'll live for a while yet. I have zero complaints of its iq.

My A7II is sold. I don't see an option to change my answer to A7III.

There isn't. But there will be another survey in time. This survey gives us a snapshot of what people are shooting with. |

I too have now upgraded to the a7iii but previously voted for a7ii, which I’m keeping as my backup camera. |
