Promised in my other open views to come up with a few more snaps from this Zeppelin NT flight above the northwestern ("Upper Lake") arm of Lake Constance.
The flight route was over sights of the northern shore of Lake Constance, mainly located along the shore of "Überlinger See" like Meersburg, the Baroque church Birnau, flower island of Mainau and town Überlingen. And after reaching the most westerly part of the lake arm at Bodman-Ludwigshafen crossed back on the opposite shore with a short detour via Constance and then again along the northern "Upper Lake" shore (Hagnau, Immenstaad) back to the starting point "Zeppelin Hangar" at the airport in Friedrichshafen.

As most Dyxum members might lack the exact knowledge of that area let alone the impression of such Zeppelin flight, you all might look at these images differently - thus comments, critique and suggestions are most welcome
Hope you enjoy my attempts in capturing a few tourist highlights of that region.

So here now few of my 'aerial' images taken from on-board Zeppelin NT:

"#1 | Meersburg"

"#2 | Baroque basilica Birnau"

"#3 | Überlingen"

"#4 | D-LZZF over Lake Constance / "Überlinger See"

"#5 | Infrared view towards island Reichenau in the Lower Lake

"#6 | Imperia statue at Constance port entrance"

And finally an IR pano of the "Upper Lake".

"#7 | IR pano - Lake Constance "Upper Lake"

Might that be Insel Mainau on the left of #6?

I have fond memories of my visits to Konstanz.

Lovely visual travelogue of a place I know little about and will never get to see in person so thank you. Photographically, #4 is wonderful.

Wonderful set, Michael! A very special experience, I guess!

My favorites are #2, #4 and #5 - I like the IR "mapping" very much!

What tele lens did you use for ##1-3? The Tele-Elmarit? I find the rendering of #2 magnificent!

TFS!

What a wonderful experience. Presumably something not unlike a hot air balloon flight, but self propelled? And of course, inside an enclosed gondola.
Beautiful birds eye views of a very picturesque part of the world.
My favourites are ##1, 4 and especially 6.
More please?

A wonderful event to fly with a zeppelin
And apparently, it offers great opportunities for taking fine photographs.
I love #3 with an unusual view of the castle and #4 showing both zeppelin and landscape.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken

Brian, the land tongue visible on the left of #7 (wrong numbering corrected) is not Mainau, but the public (bathing) beach "Hörnle". Mainau lies much further northwest from there, actually the viewing direction of the pano is to the east.
But you can spot Mainau island under the tail wheel in #4.

At first wanted to take the 90mm Tele-Elmarit with me only, but then decided for longer reach and packed the Sony FE70-300G zoom lens. Though I was actually allowed to take my photo backpack on board , I rarely changed lenses on the a7 and mainly used the telezoom, plus for a few wide-angle shots the FE16-35/4; and of course for the IR-shots my Nex-5n with OM Zuiko 21/3.5.
Given that the altitude of the Zeppelin NT varied somehow between 2300-2900ft on the main route, the 300mm was absolutely necessary to get some of the anticipated motives of specific sights in the end, 90mm definitely would have been to short for that.

I have only pleasant associations with my stay at Constance some years ago. Your fine series remind me of this time. I like especially ## 1 to 4 with #4 as my favourit. Thanks for sharing and I hope to see some more!

Beautiful additions to the series, Michael.
Very hard to pick favourites, because they are all so good, and so very appealing.
Thanks again.
