Original design for 1st gen Minolta AF 5000 7000 9000 camera. May not work with newer AF.The earliest s/n that is reported to work with 5D is s/n 2000085.
But, you should really try it with your camera and see if it's working properly.
It's a normal old zoom lens with a marco position, in which the focus distance is between 14 an 20 cm.
