DT 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 SAM
manufacturer description
The 18-135 mm f/ 3.5 - 5.6 Zoom Lens from Sony has been developed to provide you with an outstanding focal range for normal use, covering frequently-used focal lengths between 18 mm and 135 mm. Providing you with far greater versatility of a single lens, and added safety of not needing to change to multiple lenses in the field--or missing a shot because of it.
Sony's Direct Manual Focus (DMF) allows you to easily switch between AF and MF without even having to remove your eyes from the viewfinder so again, you don't miss that fateful shot by simply adjusting the lens. The lens also provides a smooth and quiet AF thanks to the Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) built into it, which also improves AF response when shooting moving subjects.
With a single ED glass lens element as well as a pair of aspherical lens elements, the lens delivers images with low levels of color aberration for excellent image quality in any setting. For coverage of very popular focal lengths, from landscape to portraiture, plus ultimate versatility for everyday use, the Sony 18-135 mm is an excellent option for those needing their first catch-all lens, or others looking to consolidate several fixed focal length lenses into this wide range of zooms.
Internal Focusing System
Keeping the lens length from changing as you zoom in or out, the internal lens elements move when focusing--creating a better balanced and faster focusing lens overall
Circular Aperture
To get a nearly circular out of focus bokeh effect on spot-light sources, the aperture blades of the 18-200 mm form a near circle at the wide openings used for low-light shots
Aspherical Lens Elements
The three aspherical elements correct visual aberrations more effectively across the entire zoom range and don't weight the lens down as much as previous lens elements
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) Glass
There are two ED Glass lenses that minimize flare and greatly reduce chromatic aberration--giving you a sharp, clear shot even at full telephoto zoom
