comment:This lens was available by November 2016 with a Viltrox brand. There were several reviews in 2017. There's a newer Leica M-mount version with the aperture control at the front of the lens. Of course that version is more expensive. This was a like-new black 7Artisans E-mount copy offered by a reliable eBay store. "Made in China"

This is a heavy lens. It gives the impression it is made out of steel instead of aluminum alloy. It is not the most compact lens. The built-in hood reminds me I still haven't found a hood that fits the hood bayonets of the Neewer 35mm F1.2 and 32mm F1.6 lenses. The built-in hood is nearly useless. The lens flares badly with a light source just outside of the frame--extending the hood doesn't help. It doesn't offer any real protection either.

Other than flare it performs better than the bulky Minolta MD 35 F1.8. The third-party AF lenses are better for landscapes and flat field, but those are more expensive. Optically is much like a full-frame version of the APS-C 25mm F1.8 primes. It is no Zeiss Loxia or Voigtländer. I expect the Handevision Iberit and Yasuhara Anthy are also better lenses.
