comment:Clean copy with caps but without hood or box purchased from an individual through Facebook Marketplace. I happened to find this by accident while browsing listings. I've had a few copies of the smaller APS-C 50mm F2 that almost covers full-frame. "Made in China"

It is quite sharp wide-open even in the corners. Spherical Aberration might be slightly less than the Sony FE 1.8/50. Mid-field is a bit soft wide-open. It has more lateral CA in the extreme corners than the older 50's. This makes it not a great choice at smaller apertures. It is slightly wider than the FE 50 F1.8 and the Minolta 50's.

The focus grip texture is similar to those on first generation Minolta MC lenses. The aperture control is in front and rotates in the Sony E-mount direction (opposite of Minolta).

It is one of the few unsupported lenses that fit unmodified on the Sony FE teleconverters.

Overall a very decent fully manual lens. It is made better than the typical vintage prime.
