ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony AF DT 18-200 F3.5-6.3
70-210 Beercan
price paid:Ł110GBP
positive:Compact
Relatively lightweight
Good Color
Zoom range
Reasonable sharpness
Power zoom
negative:Power zoom makes battery life a little shorter
Flare - needs a hood
comment:This is a very well-built and solid lens. I like the power zoom, it actually works reasonably fast and is cool to use. Has a focus lock button. Much easier to carry around than the beercan, easy to carry when nature watching. I use a collapsible hood to help with flare. Takes quite good pictures - particularly at f/8 and above.
