comment:I have a pretty good copy, I guess. I am having a difficult time with making the decision to sell it. My 100-300 APO stays, the 70-210's are all going except one Beercan and a 70-210 3.5-4.5, but I think that I'll hang on to the "xi" for awhile. I do like it better than the Big Beercan in almost every way so that lens is going too.

Like most zooms, it is a little soft wide open throughout the entire range, but I kind of like the softness for portraiture (usually 5.6/100th at 100mm. I use the lens at f11/500th in bright light and control the shutter speed with an ND filter which seems to provide a little more snap.

I am not in love with this lens, but I like it enough to keep it.
