I used to own a Minolta 85 G D. The 85 G D is not very sharp at f1.4. Stop down to f2, it's wonderful.
When I received this lens, I am very surprised how sharp it is at f2. I think this lens is sharper than the 85 GD at f2.
The bokeh is very good. It does make the 3D look for the pictures.
