ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50mm Macro RS
price paid:$342 (used w/case)
positive:Super sharp, no distortion, limit switch
negative:Nothing really, except it hunts a bit in very low light, like any macro. I did shoot a bumble bee on a bush on a very windy day and it had little trouble keeping up.
comment:Absolutely love the 50mm, so wanted the 100mm to go with it, for subjects needing a longer length. Found a good copy on ebay and very happy with it. If/when I go full frame, will have this great lens. If you like Macro, get one of these.

Update. It does fringe a bit, but this is probably my favorite lens. I've shot a lot of landscape and portraits with it in addition to macro. It's so sharp and the bokeh is amazing. I use it with manual focus unless the subject is moving lot, so hunting not really been a huge issue.
