ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:Sony - AF 100 F2.8 Macro
Minolta - AF 35-70 F4
price paid:266 euro
positive:nice balance fitted
beautifull rich colours
creamy bokeh
sharp (as it should be)
negative:'bonking' autofocus
comment:Bought this lens at a bargainprice, before prices started to increase. It was my first real macrolens.
Love the magnification and it is sharp as a razor. Flare is not an issue, didn't have the hood, never missed it though. Didn't like the af, like stated it was 'bonking', could feel the power of it, wasn't smooth.
Had a lot of fun hunting down insects in my garden. Performs great as a portraitlens. Sold it due to an offer I couldn't refuse and regretted that untill the purchase of the Sony.
I do think prices are overrated at the moment (>400 euro).
