comment:This lens is a real gem. Even though the popularity of the Sony DSLR system has driven Minolta lens prices up, this lens is still way cheaper than the new Sony 100mm Macro (which I haven't tried).

The lens is amazingly sharp and actually easy to work with once you get used to it. In terms of macro capability it easily outperforms all those zoom lenses with their 1:4 macro.

The focus limiter is really handy if you shoot still objects.

If you are into macro work, this is a must-have lens imo.
Way cheaper than the new Sony and you get one of the sharpest lenses from the Minolta lineup.
