ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Min 50Macro RS
Min 100 Soft Focus
price paid:usd 318 used
positive:Minolta colors
Very high detail resolution
negative:Too slow for butterflies
comment:I bought and used the 50/2.8 Macro before I bought this -- but I don't think I've used the 50 since. This is a perfect lens for spiders and lizards, grasshoppers and caterpillars -- things in the garden that essentially stay put for a minute or two.

I really like the color on this lens, which appears particularly deeply Minolta.
