comment:This is a really great lens. Wide open, the corners and edges can be a bit soft and the bokeh can be onion-like. But this is minor. There is (obviously) distortion but that goes with the territory. It's a sharp lens and quite flare-resistant and CA-resistant. Colour is very nice. Focusses fast and quite quietly. 72mm filter size is practical (nice complement to the 28-135 out in the field). Solid build.

It's a great alternative to a large and heavy (and expensive) ultra-wide zoom. You can easily throw it in your bag. I also find the shooting experience with a wide prime a simpler process. I more easily foresee how a scene will look. Recommended for the a850/900.
