ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 28-80. Tamron 70-210 MF
Vivitar 70-210 f/4 AF
price paid:$380 new
positive:The zoom range of 24-105 is very good. The overall optical quality is fine. The AF is extremely fast. Max magnification very good at 1:5
negative:none
comment:This is probably the perfect lens for overall zooming convenience and compactness. This is going to be the lens
that I will be using on my future digital SLRs. The sharpness rating I gave of 4.5 instead of a perfect 5.0 is only because my 100mm 2.8 D macro is noticeably
sharper. But for a zoom, I think this 24-105 is among the best.
