ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 28-105mm 3.5-4.5
Sony 16-80mm on aps-c
price paid:100 E
positive:good range on FF
lightweight and compact
OK sharpness stopped down
negative:vignetting at 24mm
stiff zoom at tele end
sharpness not great at wide open
distortion
comment:When I switched from aps-c to FF earlier this year, I initially got Minolta 28-105 mm as a walk-around zoom. While the 28-105 is marginally better in every aspect (except for size and weight), not having the 24 mm focal length really bothered me. I therefore acquired the 24-105 mm and I am pretty happy with it, accepting its limitations (see negatives above).
The 16-80 mm for aps-c is in another league, that is one lens I regret...
