Zoom Creep
comment:Optically this seems to be one of the best Minolta zoom lenses. If you are an architectural photographer you might fault it on distortion but then you probably would any zoom.

This seems as sharp as the 50mm prime and 35-70 f4 but has the extra range (great on full frame and not bad on APS-C).

If image quality is all you are looking for this is the lens for you. I've marked it down on build quality because I don't feel it matches the optics very well. It's ok but because of the weight of the glass I feel it should be more solid which would probably help with the zoom creep.

Ergonomically I much prefer the 35-105 but this is a small sacrifice to make for the quality I've produced when this is attached to my cameras.
