flare control: 3
|ownership:||I own this lens|
|compared to:||Sony kit 18-55 : way better|
Minolta 35-70 3.5/4.5 : i think the 35-70 is a bit better and certainly easier to use
|price paid:||50 Euros|
|positive:||great image quality|
|negative:||manual focus is complicated and slow ( motorised )|
Took me a while to figure out how it works.
Gets out of focus while zooming in automatic mode
|comment:||Much better than the kit 18-55 mm - no comparaison as far as image quality is concerned.|
I would not recommend this lens for filming wildlife though, unless you use it in perfect light conditions.
Otherwise, the manual focus is just too complicated ( if you want to follow a flock of birds for instance ).
So, i'd say excellent as an all-rounder for shooting pics and just ok for video in broad daylight at a steady range.
And don't use the zoom while filming because focus just stops ( i mean it it's completely out of focus) for as long as you activate the zoom )
