comment:This lens is Minolta at its best: Quality without braking the bank too much. On digital, with 1.5 cropping, it's ideal: 42mm. Bokeh is Ok
with lower contrast images.
It's really sharp. Had some trouble with filters (maybe due to the flat front element which is close to filter). Hoya HMC worked, HMC Super didn't. Better without though, the lens and color is that sharp. Auto focus is very smooth. Manual focus is also Ok. The supplied sun shield is not useful on APS-C. In critical situations I use the shield of a 100-300 APO RS.
The case that comes with this lens is really over the top. It's from another age, or two. On the other hand, it magnifies the quality and Zen that has been put in this lens. Sony, please take noteā€¦
