ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 70-210mm f/4.5-5.6
Minolta 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6
price paid:780 USD (used)
positive:This is an awesome lens. Fast-focusing, beautiful color rendition, sharp.
negative:Care should be taken when shooting with strong backlighting--CA shows up wide-open but should be gone by f/8. Focusing suffers when used with a teleconverter (1.4x).
comment:If you like to shoot wildlife or sports but can't afford the f/2.8 long lenses, this is about your only option. Well, there's the 400mm f/4.5 but that's even harder to find. You won't go wrong with this lens.
