compared to:minolta 28-85 f3.5-4.5
minolta 35-70 f4
minolta 70-210 f4
minolta 50 f1.7
minolta 28 f2.8
minolta 100 f2.8 macro (bit harsh maybe to compare against this but for standard photography @ 100mm it isn't far off)
price paid:£50
positive:£ for £ this has to be one of the best lenses available.
Other than the 100 macro it's the sharpest lens I own.
Beautiful colours.
Will probably outlive me and it's an absolute joy to use.
negative:I can't think of one bad thing about it to be honest.
comment:Had one of these for a couple of years now but only recently used it on 35mm film. Always been very happy with how it performed on aps-c digital but gosh, images on film with it are just beautiful. If I had to rate sharpness just against the macro I'd have to give it 4.5 but I'm not, compared to all my other lenses it leaves them way behind so it gets a 5 from me.
