positive: | Overally very sharp throughout the range. Very nice color. Reasonable sharpness at wide open. Very useful FL range (Wide enough for full frame at least for me) Price! AF is accurate and fast enough using with LA-EA4 on Sony A7ii. |
negative: | So long MFD (1.5m). Quite heavy distortion at wide aperture. Heavy, narrow focus ring. Noisy focusing. |
comment: | I just bought this lens (my first fullframe lens) and really like it: sharpness, color, AF... I got results that I never got on EM10 with M42, minolta MD, M4/3 (Pany 20 f1.7, Oly 40-150 f4-5.6) lense. I think I was lucky to have a good copy. It pairs well with A7ii using LA-EA4. I'm satisfied with AF performance though it hunts quite frequently in low light (especially using center focus point). I found it's very nice for portrait. The main thing I don't like is the size and weight. Adding this lens and the adapter makes A7ii look like DSLR system with weight of >1.2kg. But it's all about compromise. |
