comment:This has become my new favorite lens. I love everything about it. Well, I guess it could be a bit wider, but for the vast majority of uses it's fine, and (as long as there's room) I'm not so lazy I can't back up a few feet to zoom out if I have to. It has a size and feel that just feels perfect in my hands and produces wonderful photos. Even though I'm not a pro sports photographer, it's, by far, the best lens I have for taking shots of my son playing ice hockey. Unlike the Tamron 24-135mm I own, it has lightning fast auto focus and the perfect range for most hockey shots. This does not mean it doesn't perform beautifully outside the rink. If there are any downsides to this lens, it would have to be the minimum focusing distance of close to 6 feet and the lens creep. This is a great lens.
