comment:Tough to put this lens into a specific category, but the more I use it the more I come to appreciate it. When carried with the 17-50 makes a great all around lightweight package. I have not done formal testing, but it just seems to autofocus faster than anything else I have on my a100, including newer digital lenses. All around a very fun and useful lens.

Build quality is fantastic. Would love to see more reviews and a formal comparison test done with modern super zooms. I suspect this will do as well if not better than those.
