positive:Very sharp even wide open
Good zoom range
comment:Nice color and sharpness. I like the lens, its size and the weight of less than 500 grams. I have compared it to the Minolta 28-135, which I have sold, while I have kept this lens because it delivered sharper pictures. The motorized zoom produces a strange noise, but who knows - maybe motorized xi zooms will become popular again with new Alphas offering video functionallity. For me this is an underrated lens. Maybe this is because of the last two reviews here where the the positive comments don't fit the ratings.
Flare is pretty pronounced. While skiing I took some pictures close to the sun's direction - people looked like ghosts with a blue contour. Therefore I lowered flare to 3.
