Minolta AF 35-70mm F4 A-mount lens review by macronut

Reliability of Minolta legacy lenses.
So cheap these days it's dang near free.
|negative:||Hood is a joke, and that is IF you find it with the usually missing hood.|
No ADI and no modern coatings.
Focal range is not so great on FF and pathetic on APSC.
Zoom ring is small and clumsy.
|comment:||This is a tiny lens. Lightweight and small is nice, but focal range is not so nice. On apsc bodies, 35-70 is as odd as you can find. |
Colors are very nice, typical Minolta.
Sharpness is pretty good and bokeh is pleasing enough.
This lens would benefit from a better hood, and for whatever reason many are for sale without the hood.
This is a good lens if you are on a budget. Give it a shot. It certainly is cheap enough. Cropped sensor cameras will not pair well indoors. Outdoors the focal range is less of an issue. This lens will render superior images to Sony's 18-70 kit lens.
