comment:This used to be one of my favourite lenses on my Maxxum 9000 together with the 70-210 f4 they made a great pair to carry and gave a useful range. I almost ditched this lens when I acquired a DLSR with an APS-C sensor as a range of 53-105 didn't seem much use, however as it had been such a good tool in the past that I gave it a chance, and still use it for rare film shoots. Bingo! with a +4 macro filter it makes an excellent cheap carry around macro lens. For studio macro I use a bellows with an MC manual 55mm f1.4 lens one end and a M42 T mount the other the 35-70 doesn't compare with this in quality but is more than acceptable for flowers and bugs whilst out and about.
I've now acquired a 700si in good condition so I think that this together with my 70-200 f4 is going to see more use.
