ownership:I own this lens
compared to:CZ 24-70
Contax C/Y remounted Zeiss 21 F 2.8
price paid:480 USD
positive:Very sharp (after AF microfocus adjustment in a900)
3D effect in rendering skin tones
negative:Lack of modern anti-flare internal barrel coating.
comment:I became intrigued by reports of the color and sharpness of this very small lens. I find it to be a very comfortable walk around lens, with terrific image quality, when the CZ 24-70 is just too big and I do not anticipate a need for longer focal lengths. It is also useful when the 21 2.8 is too wide for intended use and when AF is useful (candids of street scenes).
I moved to a900 in anticipation of using only the Sony Zeiss lenses and my remounted LeicaR glass and remounted Contax Zeiss lenses. This discovery has been a most pleasant surprise.
