positive:COLOR, COLOR & more COLOR, superb contrast with magnificent sharpness
negative:Me learning to get out of the way of this gem and letting it shine.
comment:At first I was under whelmed with this lens. Then as I used it more and it showed me how good it was. The color for me has made this a wise decision. I did not expect this to be a portrait lens until I tried it and WOW! It is openning up new vistas of possibilities. It is sharp, with superb contrast and magnificent color. I haven't tried it on my A700 yet so I can't speak to APS-C performance yet (more to come).

I highly recommend this lens if you can get a hold of one.
