ownership:I own this lens
compared to:70-300G Sony
200-400 Tamron
200 2.8 Minolta
price paid:2900 USD (used)
positive:incredibly sharp,
hand holdable (short periods),
great colours
negative:nearly impossible to find filters, not ssm
comment:Crazy sharp lens if you nail the focus (thin DOF). Sharp wide open and amazing at f5.6. Sharpness equal to or better than the Minolta 200 2.8 and way better than the Sony 70-300G.Focus limiter very useful. Auto focus is pretty quick and accurate considering it's not SSM. Able to be used hand held but would recommend using a monopod. My only beef is the filter size. No one other than Minolta has ever made 42mm filters. If you can find filters for it on EBay you will have to pay an outrageous price.
