comment:In one word - WOW!!!
I wasn't planning to buy this lens. I was looking for Minolta 300mm f/2.8 HS (I still think 300mm will more useful to me, especially with TCs), but I found this one and decided to go for it.
After few weeks of not finding time to use it properly (I don't have time to go out to nature, and shooting indoor is not a proper use of this lens...), I was already ready to sell it.
Then I had chance to go for birding. The first shot, wide open, left me amazed! That lens is great!
It is sharp wide open, amazingly sharp when closed a little, down to ~f/11 when image becomes bad (at f/16 it is not very useful).
