ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron 90mm Macro
Sony 30mm Macro
price paid:100 GBP (s/h)
positive:Its rare but cheap
well built
Fairly sharp
negative:Not a true MACRO 1:2
Not quite the best MACRO lens in the world as the current rating would suggest
comment:This is a fairly hard to find lens, well built and fairly cheap (I paid 100 pounds s/h this year). Its pretty sharp from 3.5, good colours, AF is relatively fast... BUT I don't think it quite deserves the high rating it gets here - both the Tamron and Sony macro lenses I have are as sharp if not sharper and are true 1:1 macros vs the 1:2 of this lens. Nevertheless, if you can find one fairly cheap its a great, small lens to have in your bag.
