AF noise
comment:This lens is very nice for travel photos and hiking. It is very lightweight. Its sharpness is not on par with modern good quality zooms and the color reproduction is great.
The af is very noisy, so don't plan to use it in theaters or to shoot birds. It autofocus precisely and is not slow. Hunts a little bit but not more than the other lenses I have compared it to.
Less CA than beercan.
The original hood attachments are a joke.
By far more bang for bucks than beercan.
But the Tamron DI USD is a lot better and for a little more money, so I sold the Minolta (with a profit, btw).
