ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 300f/4 APO
Minolta 28-70 G
Not a real comparison ( those are the other lens I own )
price paid:1050 US (1992! )
positive:Image quality
Compact ( for the kind of lens )
Minimum distance
comment:I bought this lens in 1992.

At that time it was big heavy and I had the feeling to be easy noticed.
For a longtime it was my workhorse lens together with a 24 and a 50 mm

Now it seems far more "normal" than new white versions or new Sony 70-200.
I use it with my A850 + VG and it ends in a compact and solid combo. I did never thought to upgrade it with a newer version as its quality is still outstanding.

( The only lens sometimes I take into consideration as an alternative is the CZ 135 but in the end I think that a zoom it is more useful for my needs )
