positive:Sharp. Lush colors and contrast. Perfect size. Super fast and accurate autofocus.
negative:White finish prone to peeling. CA under certain conditions. MFD can restrictive at times.
comment:This lens feels wonderful in the hand. Quite frankly, it would be great if modern 70-200 f2.8's could be built in same form factor. The size is just right, though I suppose in lens focus motors require more space. I tested two obvious modern alternatives, and found them to look and feel like rocket launchers! Autofocus noise is not bothersome at all, though that may be in my humble opinion only. It's amazing how often I reach for my 80-200 HS and Beercan over more modern lenses in my kit. I like the Macro capability of the Beercan, and it's great for casual shots of my kids. The 80 200 HS gets a lot of use for indoor/outdoor sports photography on my a77ii. I imported from Japan via Ebay and had no issues. Strongly recommend.
