ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma 70-200mm APO HSM. Zeiss 24-70mm. Zeiss 85mm F1.4. Sigma 50mm F1.4 HSM.
price paid:£650.00
positive:G lens. Built to last forever. Sharp everywhere from f3.2
negative:Noisy compared to latest SSM lenses.
comment:This lens is in my humble opinion, better than the Sony 70-200mm F2.8 G SSM II, as it is still tack sharp at 200mm. Louder maybe, but capable of making epic images. It is fast, accurate and well balanced on the A99 and fast and accurate on the A7R with the LA-EA 4 converter.

I can confirm that with a little fettling the Nikon HB-7 lens hood will fit this lens.

UPDATE. This lens is still a steel on the A99ii and continues to impress with wonderful images.
