| comment: | I made the mistake of adding this lens to my watch list. It was described as being in poor condition "with heavy internal fungus". I got an email offering a discount which I accepted without checking the listing closely. Unlike the previous older black version, the body was in good condition, but the glass did have fungus. It certainly isn't the worst I've seen. "JAPAN" The hood bayonet doesn't extend or rotate, so the lens can seem like an internal focus design with the hood installed. The aluminum barreled hood is like those included early telephoto zooms. The hood edge had some heavy wear and there was some sort of cloth tape coming loose on the joint between the metal and plastic parts. This copy had even worse alignment than the older version perhaps caused by the fungus. The focus speed didn't seem any faster than the older version. I might try a better example in the future. |
