comment:My reaction to the first portraits captured with this lens was- "Wow".

The subtle rendering of tone and texture is truly remarkable. Newborn and baby skin is captured with incredible neutrality and naturalness. I prefer this lens over all others when shooting portraits of young children and babies.

This lens is sharp from wide open but due to the miniscule DOF at F1.4 and min focusing distance it is so easy to inadvertently move the focus plane. It doesn't focus as fast as some other lenses but accuracy is top notch. Sweet zone seems to be F1.7 to F8.

This lens seems to 'paint' from an enormous palette of colour and tones and certainly lived up to its reputation for me. Superb lens.
