ownership:I have experience with this lens
compared to:Sigma 18-125mm
Sigma 24-70 EX
Canon 24-70L
price paid:
positive:Light and inexpensive
negative:Poor AF, plastic mount, very slow - F/5.6 by around 35mm focal length
comment:Came with the camera so I kept it but its not very good unless stopped down to f/8. After using Sigma EX glass, I could never use this lens again. If you just got one though its a great lens to learn about photography and 18mm is nice for panoramic shots. Its very slow hitting f/5.6 by around 35mm of focal length, thats not very good. Anyone can get good shots with this lens stopped down but AF is not reliable and you need to trust your gear.
